As He Is, So Am I

so am i

This past week, this scripture from 1 John 4:17 came up a lot. There are testimonies of people who have said out loud: As he is, so am I and were healed of their issues. The common misunderstanding is that to be like Christ we have to endure physical suffering all the time, and live an anguished life. I am learning more and more, this is not true. I have said this verse a lot this past week, but here is what I learned:

“I want to touch on the Lord at our Father’s right hand and what that means to us today. In fact, we alluded to that towards the end of the sermon last week, and I want to continue that because during my trip, my recent trip, my working trip, actually, the Lord spoke to me in between the sessions and the Lord said to me, “I want to emphasize this truth more than ever. I gave you this truth many years ago, and I want this restored to the body of Christ”. And it’s the truth of 1 John 4:17. Let’s look at 1 John 4:17, “Love has been perfected among us”, now, I like this because this is the accurate rendition of the Greek. Your Old King James says, herein is our love, our love made perfect.

Listen, friends, it’s not about your love being made perfect. It is love has been perfected amongst us, all right, love has been perfected among us. In other words, God loves us. Look at the context before that. God loves you, amen, and now God’s love for you is culminated in your life, amen. It comes to its completion. God sent his Son to die for our sins. “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have bonus in the day of judgment”. How do we understand that God loves us completely, how? Because the Bible says we may have boldness in the day of judgment. Now, I know in the day of judgment, there’ll be a day of judgment.

You say, “Believers don’t go to judgment, Pastor Prince”. There is something called the judgment seat of Christ, but I want you to know something, believers, you’re not there to be judged. In fact, the word “judgment seat of Christ”, the word “judgment” doesn’t appear in the Greek. It’s called the bema seat of Christ. If y’all watched the Roman movies last time, “Ben Hur”, and all that, into the place where the emperor gives the stephanos, the crown, to the winner, that place where the emperor stands to award is called bema. Yes, bema has been used also to execute and pass sentence, but the bema seat of Christ is to give rewards. The Bible says you believe on Christ, you have passed from death unto life. Another verse says that once you believe in Christ, you shall never come into judgment, never.

Your judgment is passed so at the judgment seat of Christ, you know, do you know when you stand at the judgment seat of Christ, it is a matter of getting rewards whether your work is done out of gold, divinity, divine power, silver, out of redemption based on grace, precious stones, seeing God’s people like the high priest breastplate, amen, the Church of Jesus Christ. Or is your work built on wood, men’s efforts? Hay, dried up glory of men. Straw, amen, all these speaks of man. You get a reward or you don’t get reward, that’s it, the bema seat of Christ. Do you know you’re standing before Jesus in your glorified body? Do you know at the bema seat of Christ, all of us are standing before him in our glorified body?”-Joseph Prince from the Sermon-As He Is So Am I.

Speak it, believe it to the best of your ability and fake it till you make it. That is true for this, because it does take time. I was introduced a few months ago to the Proverb: “Death and life are in the power of the tongueAnd those who love it will eat its fruit.”-Proverbs 18:21(NKJV)

I never thought about it but noticed in my life if I think and speak complaints, negativity, say out loud problems I am having, you put a mark on your forehead that says you are a target and the spiritual realm looks for excuses to jump on you night and day.

For instance, my teeth have had heavy black tartar forever and nothing helped it. I realized I needed to stop saying it giving it power over me. Same with other health issues. Anything we say is an invitation for evil to come and we don’t even realize it.

The woman I ride with to church told me a powerful story awhile back. She said the spirit led her to say one day to this family whose daughter was hit by a car to stop speaking death over her, or she will die. They were stunned. Tears were streaming down their face, they were Christians, but they had never heard of this. It took four days of prayer and not saying negative things to turn the situation around and she did live. If you don’t believe me, by all means try it in your life. I can tell you right now my own life reeks of this. God also keeps showing me to “labor to enter into rest”.(Hebrews 4:11) I was in prayer and I kept feeling this loving nudge to let go and relax deeper in Him. Not something I have been good at in the past. I realize I have to change my entire way of thinking, hence the scripture: Renewal of the mind.

I have been up in church on four different occasions for healing. There was a sense of completion. But, at home, I did not feel anything like I was healed. Many teachers that actually get the real Gospel say that when Christ said: “It is finished”, he meant all of it. That includes sin in the future as well! past, present. It means every illness, condition, addiction, problem, provision, everything you can imagine was took care of. This is not taught because Satan wants to win so badly he has destroyed the church with lies, and holds people in bondage that they can’t have healing, that they have to suffer. The only suffering we put up with as a Christian, a heir to Christ by the way, is persecution and warfare. Those two things alone make up for a lot and it is more than enough suffering since in Romans 8:36 it says: “

As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

The more we stay blind and ignorant, the more helpless we will feel in our lives. I never understood Bonnie Gray’s message of letting God get close, and accepting he cares, but it is true.

The more we accept His feelings toward us are good, that He is for us and not against us, (Romans 8:31)(He showed me that as well) the more we realize, that we have every spiritual blessing in Christ(Eph 1:3) because we are partakers of the divine nature, (2 Peter 1:4) the more we will reign in life.(Romans 5:17::” if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

The teachers and Pastors that have gotten this message are the ones who actually listen and want to hear from the real God.

Discerning who God is and who evil is dictates your whole life. I hear Christians say :”I was convicted”, “God said harshly to me!”…or they will point out angry, guilt ridden statements saying it is from God and I wince. No, it is not. God does not say nasty things. He does not induce guilt. He does not get angry the way we think. We have invented a fake angry God and when we claim we hear from him, we are really hearing from Satan, and letting him dominate our lives.

For years I thought it was the other way around, and that anything I wanted, that I desired was wrong and I have to be perfect at all times. That is cheap grace. The finished work is such a grand concept we can’t understand it. Yet, when I read testimonies on Joseph Prince website, people who get it, their lives drastically change. They are set free.

I am just now learning of this and trying it in my life and encourage you to do the same!

Open up prayer with God and just sit there. Bind evil in Jesus Name from interrupting the Word and go to Ephesians and Colossians and read Ephesians 1, and Colossians 2. See what God shows you. The reason I say to bind evil is that I have noticed I will have things happen that are not from God, trying to guilt trip me, condemn me, and you have to cast it down.

The Father, the real and true one is calmer, meek and lowly in spirit, and wants you to know love, to receive, and spend more times receiving than giving out fake, automatic works because you think you have to score points. For some of us, myself included, it may be the hardest thing you ever do. A real believer gets to know the real God, dares to ask uncomfortable questions, is real, is always themselves, and does not act like a slave.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ-John 1:17

There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.(I think this is where people misunderstand. You are already walking after the spirit after you have received Christ. It is not literal in the sense that if you do something sinful, you automatically are condemned when God just told us we are not)Romans 8:1

For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.(v.2)

Law of sin and death means illness, disease, etc.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness-.Romans 8:10.

This means that the spirit gives life, it does not take away.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His spirit that dwells in you.(v.11)

The above verses are the most powerful ever in the Word, and I encourage you to study them and if anything comes up to give you a cheap, guilt ridden definition, it is not from God. God gives life, heals, renews, because we are a new creation. The mistake believers make is that we have to die to get these things, but that is a lie. We have it now, we just don’t know it, or act like we have it.
